UX Projects/Project 2
Overview
Develop an intuitive and user-friendly website to assist pediatric cancer patients in easily inputting and tracking symptoms, improving usability and accessibility in clinical research settings.
Duration: 2 years +
Role: Lead UX Researcher and Designer
UTHealth Research Department
Background
As a certified UI/UX researcher with expertise in healthcare digital solutions, I collaborated with UTHealth to design a website that allows pediatric cancer patients to input and track their symptoms efficiently. Many existing platforms were not optimized for user accessibility, making it difficult for patients especially those undergoing treatment to report their symptoms consistently.
This project aimed to create a seamless and accessible digital experience that prioritizes ease of use, clarity, and patient engagement.
Note: Due to HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality requirements, no patient images or personal data can be shared within this case study.
Reflections
This project highlighted the critical role of UX research in healthcare technology. By prioritizing patient needs, we created a user-friendly, accessible, and engaging symptom input platform that enhances the patient experience and supports clinical research efforts.
Next Steps
Expanding features to include AI-driven symptom trend predictions.
Integrating telehealth consultations for immediate medical guidance.
